It has a software (already built into touch designer) called luminosity ant that is a mixer like resolume. If you want an alternative to magic, more complex, that can also replace resolume, look for touch designer.

I run them together and spout magic into resolume. but I didn't know that I bought a beautiful little beast, i love it more and more. Then I bought magic becasue I needed a cheap software that could output 4k generative content.

Most people could do vj and mapping just with blender and resolume. Magic is not a 3d engine, it's kind of a fake but is incredibly fast IMO. In magic you can import videos and also your obj files from blender, which is a bonus but it takes some practice to know what to do with them because you have no control over the normals and you have no control of lights. Things that in resolume you do with one touch, in magic have to build the whole structure. The bad thing is that you have to build all your structure. The good thing is that you can import shaders. Magic is harder to start with but has better (slightly) effects. Resolume works like a dj mixer, you render your animations in blender, after effects.
